Kindermusik and private piano instructor, Jennie Smith, has been singing since she was five and playing the piano since she was eight. After taking lessons for seven years with published piano instructor, Earl Ricker, Jennie graduated from Sauk Valley Community College with an Associate of Arts degree under the instruction of renowned professor Ruth Hedstrom, graduate of Eastman School of Music. Jennie began teaching private piano under Ruth's mentorship while still attending Sauk. Jennie later earned her license for teaching the internationally recognized and trademarked Kindermusik curriculum. Jennie has appeared in numerous Polo Area Community Theatre productions since 2010 as well as having directed music for several of their musical theatre productions. Jennie has had students who have auditioned for and been accepted for roles with Timberlake Playhouse, as well as the Mt. Morris Performing Arts Guild, Dixon's Stage Left, and Sterling High School's Summer Theatre program. Jennie is excited to share her love and understanding of music with the families of Dixon and its surrounding communities.
